Located in Manipur, Keibul Lamjao National Park is the world’s only floating national park. It is part of the Loktak Lake and is famous for being the last natural habitat of the endangered Sangai deer, also known as the brow-antlered deer. The park’s unique floating biomass, called phumdis, makes it a one-of-a-kind ecosystem. It is an important wetland for both wildlife and local communities who depend on the lake for their livelihood.
