The Purple Frog is a burrowing amphibian native to the Western Ghats of India. It is known for its unique, purple-hued skin and its subterranean lifestyle. The Purple Frog spends most of its life underground, emerging only for a short period during the monsoon season to breed. It feeds on ants and termites and is considered a relict species due to its ancient lineage.
