The Gharial is a critically endangered crocodilian species native to the rivers of the Indian subcontinent. It is distinguished by its long, narrow snout, which is adapted for catching fish, its primary diet. Gharials have a distinctive appearance with a large, bulbous growth at the tip of the male’s snout. They are mostly found in rivers with fast-flowing water and are known for their specialized hunting techniques.
