The Chinese Pangolin is a scaly anteater native to China and neighboring countries. It is covered in protective keratin scales and is known for its unique ability to roll into a tight ball as a defense mechanism. Pangolins are primarily insectivorous, feeding mainly on ants and termites. Their specialized diet and slow reproductive rate make them vulnerable to habitat loss and poaching.
