The Dugong is a large marine mammal that inhabits warm coastal waters of the Indian and western Pacific Oceans. It is closely related to manatees and is known for its gentle demeanor and herbivorous diet. Dugongs feed primarily on seagrass and are often seen grazing in shallow coastal waters. They have a streamlined body adapted for a slow-moving, aquatic lifestyle and are an important part of marine ecosystems.
