Carp are a group of freshwater fish that are widely distributed across Europe, Asia, and North America. Known for their adaptability and longevity, carp can live in a variety of aquatic environments, from rivers to ponds. They have a robust body with barbels on either side of the upper jaw, which helps them forage for food at the bottom of the water. Carp are primarily herbivorous, feeding on aquatic plants, algae, and detritus.
