Spoonbills are large wading birds known for their distinctive spoon-shaped bills. They are found in shallow wetlands and estuaries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Spoonbills use their bills to filter small fish, crustaceans, and aquatic insects from the water. They are social birds and often seen in large flocks, feeding and nesting in communal roosts.
